Entrance Exams for Post Graduation in Management Courses
Common Admission Test (CAT)
Along with IIMs, 130 prominent Management Institutes provide admissions based on the rank secured in CAT. Along with the CAT rank, IIMs conduct their own Interview, Group Discussions and give admissions.
Management (IIM - Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Indore, Kozhikode, Shillong), Agri Business Management (IIM - Ahmedabad, Lucknow), Software Enterprise Management (IIM - Bangalore, Kolkata), Computer Aided Management (IIM - Kolkata), Public Policy Management (IIM - Bangalore), Management for Executives (IIM - Indore) are the courses in which we can get entrance based on CAT rank. Students with 50% marks in Bachelors Degree ( 45% for SC, ST) are eligible to appear for CAT. The questions in this exam will be on Quantitative aptitude, Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation, Data Sufficiency. The no.of questions and Time period for the exam changes every year. Notification release in September or October every year.

Management Aptitude Test (MAT)
This is conducted by All India Management Association. This is conducted four times every year, in February, May, September, December. Almost 500 Management Schools give admissions based on MAT rank. Students who completed their Bachelors Degree are eligible for MAT. Duration of exam will be 2.5 hrs. Total marks is 200. Questions in this exam will be on Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Indian and Global Environment with questions for 40 marks on each subject.

Xavier Admission Test (XAT)
This test is conducted by X.L.R.I, Jamshedpur. Along with XLRI Institutes, 70 more management institutions are providing admissions based on XAT score. Students with good score can get admissions in courses like Business Management, Personal Management and Industrial Relations, General Management Program, Fellow Program on Management. In Andhra Pradesh, GITAM Institute of International Business (Vishakapatnam), Siva Sivani Institute of Management (Secunderabad) consider XAT score for admissions. Students who finished their 10+2+3 degree are eligible. Total marks for the exam is 200. Questions for 80 marks will be on General English, 60 marks will be on Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude and another 60 marks will be on General Awareness. After finishing Objective, an essay has to be written in 20 minutes. Notification for this exam is released in October or November every year.

Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
Students who desire to do Management courses in US or Canada will have to appear for this test. As this is a computer based Online test, the question paper will be different for every student. Duration for exam is 4hrs. Questions will be on Analytical Writing Ability, Competative Aptitude, Verbal Aptitude. Student will have to write two essays in Analytical Writing Ability. 37 marks is for Quantitative Aptitude. 41 marks is for Verbal Aptitude. You can appear for this exam any time in the whole year. But, in general, time between September and December is suitable. 1700 Management Institutes all over the world intake students based on GMAT. Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad also intakes based on GMAT.
Joint Management Entrance Test
To join in IITs and IISc, Bangalore, you need to appear for this test. Even if you secure merit in this test, each institute has its own rules and regulations for intake into Management PG courses.
1. IIT, Mumbai - First class in B.Tech/B.E or P.G in Science for Admission into Master of Management Course.
2. IIT, Kanpur - First class in B.Tech/B.E
3. IIT, Delhi - For MBA, you should have completed Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy/B.Sc (Agricultural Engineering) with 4 years course after 10+2. For Masters Degree Course, you should have completed P.G in Physical/Chemical/Mathematical Sciences(Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Applications, Electrical Sciences, Environmental Science, Operation Research, Computation)/Information Sciences/Agriculture/M.Com/Economics
4. IIT, Kharagpur - First class in B.Tech/B.E, PG in Mathematics, Statistics.
5. IIT, Madras - First class in B.E/B.Tech
6. IIT, Roorkee - First class in B.E/B.Tech
Duration for Test is 3 hrs. A total of 120 multiple choice questions will be on Verbal Communication, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation.

Association of Indian Management Schools Test for Management Admission (ATMA)
This test is conducted twice every year. Almost 350 Business Schools intake students based on this test. Test will be of 200 marks and Test Duration is 3hrs. 70 questions will be on Quantitative Skills, 70 on Verbal Skills, 60 on Analytical Reasoning. The score is valid for one year. It is one of the three important tests conducted for management courses in India.

National Aptitude Test
Society for Research and Development Education conducts this test. Around 70 colleges in India intake students based on this test for MBA, MCA, M.Com, MFT, MMC, MIB courses. The Duration of the exam is 2.5 hrs for 200 marks. Questions will be on English Comprehension, Socio-Economic Environment, Quantitative Skills, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Data Analysis. This is exam is also recognised by Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India.

National Management Aptitude Test
This test is conducted by Mumbai based Narsmonji Institute of Management Studies. Test will be for 2.5 hrs with 200 marks. You will be tested for Language Skills, Numerical Ability, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Intelligence and Reasoning, Indian/Logical Environment. Notification for this test is released in November or December every year. Along with Narsmonji Institute, some other institute also consider this test for intake.

Open MAT
You need to appear for Open MAT test to take admission into Indira Gandhi Open National University. Students with Engineering Degree or with Three Experience after 3 year Degree are eligible for this test.

Common Admission Retail Test (CART)
This test is conducted by Retailers Association of India(RIA). Admissions for Post Graduation Courses in Retail Management in 17 Institutions in India are based on this test. The Duration of course is 18 months. This test is conducted in 32 cities all over India. Students who passed degree with 50% of marks are eligible for this test. Hyderabad's Asian School of Business Management, Bangalore's Bangalore Management Academy, IFIM Business School, International School of Business and Media, Vasavi Institute of Management and Advanced Studies, Indian Business Academy, Jain School of Retail, Belgaum's K.L.E Society College of Business and Administration intake students based on this test.
