Entrance tests for Post Graduate Courses in Engineering
IIT - Joint Admission Test for M.Sc (JAM)
This test is conducted for M.Sc and M.Sc Dual Degree Courses in IITs all over India. Admissions into IITs of Mumbai, Delhi, Kanpur, Hyderabad, Roorkee, Guwahati, Madras, Kharagpur are based on this test. Students with 55% of marks (50% for SC, ST)in degree are eligible for this test. Final year students also can apply for this. Following are the courses offered at different IITs.
1. IIT, Mumbai - M.Sc (Chemistry, Maths, Physics, Applied Statistics
and Informatics, Applied Geology, Applied Geophysics, Bio Technology), M.Sc-Ph.D Dual Degree (Energy, Physics)
2. IIT, Delhi - M.Sc (Chemistry, Maths, Physics)
3. IIT, Guwahati - M.Sc (Chemistry, Maths and Computing, Physics)
4. IIT, Kanpur - M.Sc (Chemistry, Maths, Physics, Statistics), M.Sc-Ph.D Dual Degree (Physics). Students joined in this course will not be allowed to shift into M.Sc course. Ph.D must be completed in 6 semesters. M.Sc Degree will be given only after that.
5. IIT, Kharagpur - M.Sc-Ph.D Dual Degree (Chemistry, Geological Sciences, Geophysics, Maths, Physics), Students can join Ph.D after completing four semesters of M.Sc
6. IIT, Madras - M.Sc (Physics, Maths, Chemistry)
7. IIT, Roorkee - M.Sc (Applied Geology, Applied Mathematics, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Industrial Mathematics and Informatics, Physics)
M.Tech courses with 3 yr Duration: Geological Technology, Geophysical Technology, MCA

Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED)
This exams is conducted by IIT Mumbai. Admission into Master for Designing course in Industrial Design Center, IIT, Mumbai; IDDC, IIT, Delhi; CPMD, IISc, Bangalore; Design Program, IIT Kanpur.
IIT Mumbai courses in Industrial Design, Visual Communication, Animation and Interaction Design.
Ph.D programs are also available in IITs. Time Duration for exam is 3hrs. Part A will contain questions testing Visual Sensitive, Visual Perception and Creative Ability. Part B will test on writing skills and english language.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering
Every under graduate student concentrates on this test. Based on the rank secured in this test, admissions into Post Graduation in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Pharma, Science courses in IITs are given. Along with these, fellowship as Research Assistant in CSIR is also given based on GATE score. This test is conducted for 88 courses in PG. Final year students and students who completed Engineering can apply for this test. Duration of exam is 3 hrs. Test will be for 100 marks and 60 questions. Carefulness must be taken in answering as negative marking is there. Notification is released in October or November of every month. Score is valid for one year. Some companies use this score to recruit Scientists jobs.

IIIT PG Entrance
This is exam is for entrance into courses offered by IIIT, Hyderabad. Exam will be in two papers. First paper will be common for everyone and will be on General Aptitude. Questions will be on Maths, Programming and Logical skills. Second paper will be on contestant's choice. Notification is released in April or May every year.

BITS Higher Degree Admission Test
This test is conducted for admission into M.Tech, M.E courses in Birla Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, Goa and Pilani campuses. Students passed B.Tech/B.E with atleast 60% marks are eligible. Test will be conducted online. Notification is released in April every year.
